Tv9 Gujarat - Navratri Fever : Weightless and colourful Chaniya Cholis, ...

Science city Celebrate the World Wildlife Week

There is a good news to wild life lovers this week. Gujarat Science City is organizing a series of activities and programmes to mark the observation of Wildlife Week from 1st to 7th October 2010 that aims to widen the meaning of wildlife by understanding that wildlife is not just large, fierce animals, but all non-domesticated flora and fauna native to an area.

Screening of wildlife films, posters and slide shows, interactive sessions by experts, radio talks on the theme have been arranged for school and college students and the visitors during this week. Visitors can see nature and wildlife movies on the LED Screen in the afternoon.

The movie titled ‘Where have all the animals gone’ is a story about endangered species, which speaks about pollution, loss of habitat, population growth, over haunting, poaching and exotic pet trade. The film ‘More is Better: The Biodiversity Story discusses devastating loss of species and endangering an ever growing number of organism.

Similarly there are other titles namely, Animal Game, Web of Life: producer to predator, understanding ecology: what is an ecosystem, what is a food chain, what is a habitat, what is a niche, etc and some more titles are selected for the public viewing and student interaction. There are also quiz papers for participants on various aspects of wildlife and its conservation issues. The week-long celebration will be culminated on 7th October 2010.

In addition visitors can see the IMAX 3D Movie ‘AVATAR’ which is an excellent presentation on environment protection and conservation. This beautiful, fragile, miracle of a planet that we have right here is our land. Not ours to own, but ours to defend and protect.

The broad objective of this celebration is to spread the message that “wildlife” is everywhere – in our homes, gardens and fields, not just in forests and that the wonder of nature is there at our doorstep for us to study and appreciate. They can learn also about the threats to our wildlife and know about wildlife protection laws in our country.

The state Gujarat offers a great diversity of habitats and has a lot to offer to those that love wildlife. The deep forests at Dang and the Gir give shelter to various sorts of animals, including some of the rarest species that can only be found in Gujarat, such as the Asiatic lion, the wild ass, the Indian bustard, and the four horned antelope. There are also special bird sanctuaries and an excellent maritime park.

Plans to protect air and water, wilderness and wildlife are in fact plans to protect man. As this year is being celebrated as the International Year of Biodiversity, the wildlife week programme has a greater role to bring education and awareness about the conservation of plants, animals, and habitats and the preservation of biodiversity. GSC through its DNA Club students also coordinated various hands-on activities and field programmes for the awareness and conservation of wildlife in nature.

Ahmedabad Girls Rocks with fusion wear chaniya choli

U must watch these chaniya choli mismatch combination......

Ahmedabad Based Designer
Dr Falguni Patel Grooming Expert share her ideas on the up coming festival season NAVRATRI..
Navratri is approaching in about a week's time now . The streets are already flocked with the colorful chaniya cholis for girls, kediyas and dhotis for guys and chunk metallic jewellery . Each year sees a new fashion trend emerging while taking along the old ones in a new stride. Before we go to the new trends of fashion in chaniya choli's, we can undertsand the basics of this attire which is internationally acclaimed as well for its sheer colors, vibrancy, fabrics, hand-work and elegance.
Chaniya choli is divided into three parts: Chaniya, Choli and Odhni.
Navratri Chaniyas are heavy with embroidered mirror works whereas the flare of chaniya needs to be very long at least 9 meters in width such that it produces some admirable twirls when the dancer turns around. These Chaniyas can either be made of cotton, silk, chiffon, organza or satin cloth. They are either in plain colors or in tie n dye fabrics or with tradional fabrics with kalamkari/batik/ jaipuri block prints.

Choli worn by women is blouse which can be as traditional as long blouse extending below the waist as loose blouse or it can be as fashionable as short blouse that may just lie above the waist or it can be short with backless tie-ups called Bandni Choli or backless choli. Ethnic appearance of the Choli is enhanced by Embroidery, sequins, crystals, kundan stones, zardosi, and aari, thread work, mirror work etc..Modern designers have created amalgamation of ethnic and traditional by creating bustiers, noodle straps, short necks, sleeveless and halter neck.

Odhni or dupatta generally covers the head of the dancer. It need not be matching in color it can be plain or embroidered as per ones wishes. It is believed that tradition of wearing these Chaniya Cholis originated in Rajasthan and Kutch region of Gujarat. Around 25 types of raw materials are needed to make swirling chaniya Cholis that are worn during the festival.

Kamkha : This is a traditional Gujrati 'Rabaran' blouse with embroidery on the front and back open.

Chudla : These are Rabaran bangles to be worn over entire arms. If worn along with a Kamkha will give you the best traditional look.

Kedia : Men wear these high waist tops which have a very different feel and looks great when men are dancing in circles.
Typically 9 colors rule the 9 days of navratri each having a significance. These colors are red, indigo blue, orange, yellow, parrot green, peacock green, pink, sky blue, grey.
Usually designers play around these colors to give a vibrant and fresh feeling to this so eagerly awaited festival. There are majorly 2 kinds of looks which the girls can create for thsi navratri. One look is the traditional " Gaamthi " look with chaniya cholis which are heavily embedded with mirror work & kutchi work, oxidised metal jewllery , hair tied up neatly in a bun with flowers adding as an added jewellery. Also chudlas and heavy anklet which are very traditional identity of Rabari women of desert regions is also added. This whole image of a very rural yet exotic beauty is quite enticing sight for the 9 days .
The second look which has been gaining popularity since last 3-4 year is the fusion look . In this, the chaniyas are available as free flowing skirts made from traditional jaipuri cotton fabrics or cottons with batik/ kalamkari/ block prints done & adorned with bright silver / gold laces /colorful stones/ pearls. Plain bright colored chaniy also look very chic when worn with traditional " kaamkha ". Lot of color combinations are available in markets wherin you can mix and match as per your taste or pre- matched sets are also available which are designer ones.
As far as cholis are concerend lot of creativity is seen here as well. Bright colors with hand work of tikkis, silk threads, stones, mirrors and incorporating noodle straps, halter necks in its creation gives a very fusiony feeling.
Chunnis are generally leheriyas or bandhni or plain colored again with laces or mirror work.
Besides this , still if you want to have an edge over others try something different. Be innovative, mix and match. Knee length tradional skirts with sphagettis and a stole , chunky jaipuri gems jewellery . For that extra twist u could wear a waist coat with tradional work over the long skirts and throw a stole .
The best part about the fusion look is that it can be subtle and yet vibrant for the festival and reused again for your friends' mehendi or sangeet or for college cultural festival or for any evening traditional get together. So it is a good investment also unlike the traditional only which can be worn only during those 9 days.
Make up is best to kept water proof as while dancing you might sweat and you dont want that mascara running down your cheeks. Put on the bright shades for the season keeping only 1 focal point . Either dress up your eyes vivaciously or lips, if u do both , u end up being a canvas board . For hair, a chic bun or any updo would be elegant and suit the traditional get up. Fusion look calls for neat curls or straight hair left open with just a tie up here and there.
Besides the dress and make up, its how you carry yourself , so wear that big smile and you are all ready to go n be a head turner.

Khichdi -The Movie (Official Trailer) HQ

Ajay, Akshay grudge match at Diwali box office

One year after Ajay Devgn trounced Akshay Kumar at the Diwali box office, the stars go head-to-head once more

After a battle at the Indian box-office last Diwali, top Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn are set to compete with each other yet again this festival of lights. On the weekend of November 4, Kumar’s “Action Replayy”, which is directed by Vipul Shah and also features former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, goes head to head with Devgn’s “Golmaal 3,” directed by Rohit Shetty and is the third edition in a profitable franchise.

Inspired by Robert Zemeckis’s 1985 Hollywood superhit “Back to the Future”, “Action Replayy” is the story of a time-travelling couple. Having spent most of their 33-year marriage quarrelling, the couple travel back in time to relive happier times, when they first fell in love.

Set in the seventies, the Rs400m film has been talked up ahead of its release for its authentic costumes, which recreate the Disco era for Bollywood, with designers Manish Malhotra and Shabina Khan working closely with Shah to interpret the look.

But the second sequel in the “Golmaal” franchise is set to give Shah’s film a run for its money. The first film in the series, “Golmaal”, took in gross revenues of Rs520m, while its sequel, “Golmaal Returns,” reportedly took in Rs1 billion over the course of a month. That business raises expectations for “Golmaal 3”, which features the same core group of actors; Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor. Adding to the entertainment value are Kunal Khemu, Mithun Chakraborthy and the comedians Ratna Pathak Shah and Johnny Lever.

Of particular note this time around are Kareena Kapoor’s stunts, at least one of which – making an entry standing on the bonnet of a moving car – she performed herself.

When the actors faced off last year, the comedy Devgn produced, “All The Best: Fun Begins”, made on a budget of Rs300 million (Dh24m) was the bigger hit, taking in gross revenue of Rs663m. Kumar’s “Blue,” which was considered to be the most expensive Bollywood film with a budget of Rs100m, also took in Rs60m and was declared a flop.

This time, though, both “Action Replayy” and “Golmaal 3” are romantic comedies, so it remains to be seen which actor generates the most laughs – and business.

Indian animal vaccine maker gives Nepal a shot

Leading Indian animal vaccine maker Hester Biosciences Ltd has entered into a collaboration with a veteran Nepali corporate group to extend its wings overseas for export.

The Ahmedabad-based company, the second-largest animal vaccine maker in India with a 35 percent market share, has chosen to go global with an agreement signed with the Golchha Organisation of Nepal, a nearly 75-year-old industrial house with interests in steel, electronics, jute, paper and trading and service activities.

As per the agreement signed between Hester's CEO Rajiv Gandhi and Shekhar Golchha here Sunday, a 100 percent export-oriented factory that will supplement the existing range of vaccines manufactured by Hester in India will be set up in Panchkhal in Kavre district, close to Kathmandu.

To be built on an investment of about Rs.150 million, the plant is expected to be operational by December 2012 and export 2.5 billion of animal vaccine doses, mostly to Europe, Africa and South America.

Hester, listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and reporting a turnover of Rs.375 million last year, will hold 65 percent share in the JV.

The deal was struck in July after Shekhar Golchha went to Ahmedabad to woo investors and gave a presentation on Nepal.

Speaking to the local media, Gandhi said though aware of the political turmoil in Nepal and strong-arm tactics of the Nepali labour unions, a decisive factor for setting up the Nepal JV was the cold climate of the Himalayan kingdom, a major requirement for the plant, and a dust-free environment.

The product range will include between 15-20 vaccines for poultry, sheep, cattle and swine. This is the first venture abroad by the 14-year-old company.

The fresh Indian investment comes even as Indian ayurvedic giant Dabur's Nepal venture remains under a prolonged smear campaign by a section of the media.

Though deplored by the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which warned that such attacks would keep away foreign investors, Dabur's Real Mango Nectar brand of fruit juice as well as its honey remain under siege.

India is Nepal's biggest trade partner, accounting for 58 percent of Nepal's merchandise trade and one-third of trade in services.

It is also the single largest source of foreign direct investment, running over 450 projects that together have an investment of over Rs.1,400 crore - 43 percent of all foreign direct investment (FDI) in Nepal.

Green is the happening mantra in Ahmedabad buildings

Real estate developers are becoming conscious about the environment and are promoting 'green buildings'.

In India and across the globe, the 'green building' movement will lead the way in developing environment friendly homes and Gujarat is not lagging behind.

Registration of green buildings in the state is on the rise and in this respect, the Gujarat Institute of Civil Engineers and Architects (GICEA) organised a symposium, 'Beyond Copenhagen: Voice of the Community,' as part of Nirman 2010.

"The movement is all about getting back what we have lost," Dr Prem Jain, chairman of Indian Green Building Council, Noida said. The world over the focus is on constructing environmental friendly buildings and the concept is spreading across various countries, said Jain.

Green buildings will go a long way in addressing national priorities such as water conservation, energy efficiency etc, he added.

Sameer Sinha, chairman of Indian Green Building Council (Gujarat), said that demand for green buildings in Gujarat is increasing. A couple of years ago there were only one or two registered green buildings in the state. This has now reached 35, out of which around a dozen are in Ahmedabad."Majority of the buildings are under construction and will get certification in a couple of months," he said.

The availability of green material has increased in the last two years, reducing the cost difference between green and normal buildings. "Earlier, the difference was around 15%, which has now come down to only 5% because of reducing cost of green material and increased availability," said Sinha.

The Gujarat chapter of IGBC has also conducted various educational programmes in schools and colleges to create awareness about the green building concept. Bob Van Bebber, director of Boogertmen & Partners from South Africa said, "I believe that the concept, its story and execution is very important in creating anything revolutionary. India has a great road ahead in terms of this movement."

Karigari Design | Designs that talk

Before she began churning out Cannes-nominated designs from a corner space in a stock Mumbai mall—packed between a travel agency and a clothes store— 30-year-old Neha Shah worked as an account director in Ogilvy and Mather.

The 2006 Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, graduate has had stints at Ogilvy, Lowe, and award-winning copywriter Pushpinder Singh’s advertising start-up Saints and Warriors (where she was the first employee). But that was to learn the ropes. The intention was never to go up the corporate ladder. “I never wanted to be a CEO of any other company but my own,” she says.

Shah comes from an advertising bloodline. Her grandfather set up Mercantile—one of India’s oldest ad agencies—around 55 years ago. When she quit Ogilvy in 2008, it was to try her hand at what she calls the family business. But Mercantile worked with financial clients (“That’s where the money is,” she sighs), which offered her scant creative opportunities.

Shah tried to develop her own design operations while at Mercantile till she was asked to leave. “My uncle told me that I couldn’t go on using the office space for my start-up,” says Shah.

Sitting on one of the quirky angular shelves designed in-house are three tokens of design excellence that Karigari Design Inc., launched in early 2009, has already bagged—a Cannes Lions Design Finalist (2009), a One Show Design Bronze (2010) and a D&AD in-book nomination (2010). They’re all for a set of visiting cards that Karigari created for its third client—The Backpacker Co., a company that “guides” backpacking trips around the world. Karigari printed their visiting cards on easy-to-carry-and-use soap strips!

Reality check

Traditionally, advertising agencies took a 15% cut of their clients’ total advertising budgets. This is as low as 5% now. In this scenario, securing a stable financial future is a big challenge for Shah. “I’m not selling detergent, I’m selling ideas and the cost value is subjective,” says Shah, who recalls a local jeweller who gave her Rs 10,000 in cash for a store design campaign and a lot of blessings in lieu of the full payment.

Plan B

“I put all my savings into this so there really was no Plan B,” says Shah.

Secret sauce

Self-belief. “It really burns your heart when you have to write two cheques every day while you’re still not making any money...the only thing that keeps one going is a ridiculous degree of self-confidence,” says Shah.

Sujal Shah: Lakmé Fashion Week's new boss

A graduate of Georgetown university, where he majored in Biology and minored in Theology ("to understand why people think the way they do"), Shah's resume is peppered with interesting twists and turns.

A biologist is not the kind of person you'd imagine taking responsibility for India's fledgling fashion industry, but 37-year old Sujal Shah fits into his boss's shoes quite comfortably, albeit wearing brightly colored sneakers.

Better known as the head of fashion at IMG India, the global events management company that manages Mumbai's Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW), the Washington DC native speaks a mile a minute, barking out orders to subordinates, answering his phone, rifling through the plethora of papers on his desk, all the while providing lucid answers to a reporter's questions in the final hours leading up to the city's biggest fashion event.

"You know what they say about genius. It's organized chaos," he explains with a laugh, catching the look of amazement on my face.

Phew! If this is the pace required to execute the five-day fashion extravaganza taking place this week from September 17 to 21 at the Grand Hyatt hotel, Shah is clearly the right man for the job.

He's only been at the helm of Mumbai's Lakmé Fashion Week since November 2009, but it feels like he was born for the role.

Med school to Murjani Group

With what he calls his "East Village exec look" -- grizzly, slightly grayed beard, colorful Asics Onitsuka Tiger sneakers, unbuttoned shirt, ubiquitous jeans paired with either a vest or a blazer and those Diesel 55 rectangular shaped glasses, he looks every inch the dapper businessman navigating what some would consider the better organized, if not the most prestigious, of the two major fashion weeks in India.

And he enjoys this sartorial freedom too. "I did my stint with mainstream corporate America and now I have the luxury of being comfortable and playing around with color, mostly in my shoes. I like something with presence," reveals Shah.

Surprisingly, for someone who fell in love with fashion as a teenager, and did summer internships with fashion companies Anne Kline and Prada while at Columbia Business School, Shah meandered his way into the sartorial world.

Born to bonafide geniuses (his father is a rocket scientist at NASA and his mother an infectious diseases doctor in a Maryland hospital), Shah spent three months each year in Ahmedabad with relatives during his childhood. As a result, he is fluent in Gujarati, and his roots to India remain strong despite growing up in the United States.

A graduate of Georgetown, where he majored in Biology and minored in Theology ("to understand why people think the way they do"), Shah's resume is peppered with interesting twists and turns.

His 'past lives' include working in genetics and molecular biology as a researcher for the U.S. government's National Institute of Health, as a management consultant at Arthur Anderson doing projects for the CIA and the Pentagon, attending med school for a year, starting a medical practice billing company and a tech incubator, working as a business strategist and marketer for American Express Financial Services (where he worked with the very exclusive Centurion, aka, black card) before finally landing at the Murjani Group in Mumbai.

And although that sojourn was short lived, Shah admits being bitten by the India bug.

Mumbai, fashion frontier

"This is the Wild West," he says. "There's so much potential. After the Murjani stint I saw a big gap in the luxury liquidation space and worked on putting together a business plan for something along the lines of Gilt Group for India."

Private equity groups expressed interest but India's tricky multi-brand retail laws put the idea on the back burner.

In the meanwhile, Ravi Krishnan, head of IMG for South Asia and erstwhile face of LFW, approached Shah to help him with Lakmé Fashion Week. That was September 2009.

Shah jumped in feet first. A month later, he was asked to take over as head of fashion.

One of his first tasks was to help put together the joint venture 50-50 partnership between Reliance and IMG India. The other was to systematize and put in processes to ensure that the LFW machine became even better oiled.

"In this business, perception is reality. If anything goes wrong with fashion week, I'm the one to blame," he says.

"I'm a white board kind of guy. In my first meeting I took my team into a room and asked them to tell me everything we do at LFW. We mapped out 30 different verticals and assigned responsibilities and work plans so that everyone knew what had to be done by when.

"The biggest challenge is that no one takes responsibility for anything. So lesson number one for me was to teach people to take responsibility and lesson number two was to involve them in strategy."

At IMG, Shah has five direct reports but works closely with almost 300 people in the weeks leading up to LFW, including ushers, set designers, light people, choreographers, stylists, designers and so on.

He's involved in the most minute details, from seating to invitations to approving brochures. And yes, he readily admits that in India fashion is still very nascent.

A data guy, he realizes that there's a gap when the biggest buyers at LFW order between 50 to 100 units whereas in the United States, a typical buyer will put in orders for 10,000 pieces.

Yet, therein lies his challenge.

Shah is constantly looking at ways to improve the experience for both buyers and designers. He’s already increased the number of buyers attending between September 2009 and March 2010 by 64 percent, taking the total number up from 94 to 154, the majority of whom come from India.

And despite all the trappings of the fashion world, yes, he does date a model.

When asked his definition of success, Shah sits back, thinks carefully, and then disarmingly replies, "If my mom is proud."

Only one in 10 graduate employment seekers will get jobs

The Indian job market has picked up, yet only one out of 10 graduates seeking employment will find a job, says a survey on hiring trends in 2010. "This year over 10.5 lakh (1.05 million) jobs are being created across sectors but one crore (10 million) aspirants are coming into the market," managing

Ma Foi Randstad, an international human resource service provider, conducted the survey among 650 companies across 13 industry segments in eight Indian cities -- Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkota, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad.

The survey revealed that 418,564 jobs were generated in the first six months of 2010.

"The study also projected creation of 320,400 jobs the next three months (third quarter of the year) and an equal number for the fourth quarter too, taking the total job creation to over one million this year," Rajan said, releasing the findings of the survey.

The economic meltdown hit the global market early 2007, resulting in loss of thousands of jobs and cut down on hiring. Indian IT/ITes companies put hiring on hold in 2008 and 2009.

"The market has not returned to the same buoyancy of pre-recession days," said the CEO of HumanCapital B S Murthy.

The Bangalore based firm is into career consulting.

"It has slowed down, and hence less number of jobs and more seekers," he said.

Murthy said the trend is likely to continue for a decade unless there is growth in every sector in India.

While information technology and enabled services, mainly business processing office (BPO) and call centres, created a major chunk of jobs five years ago, the retail and telecom industry added numbers in recent years, he noted.

The job generation depends on investment and the investment is only in trickles, Murthy aid.

"The difficulty, however, is limited only to the freshers," Kris Lakshmikanth, the founder of The Head Hunters, said.

"It is easy for those who have already been in the industry and are looking for a placement in a different company," he added.

ABVP protests commercialisation of education in Ahmedabad

Students took out a massive protest march here on Thursday against commercialisation of education.

Organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), student wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the demonstration had protestors demanding from the Central and State governments to take steps to curb it.

Alleging that private institutions were turning education into a moneymaking venture, the students demanded a ban on such activities across the nation.

"The central and state governments are not taking any action against the rampant commercialisation of education. We are raising our voice to convey our anger, and to stir up the government into action. The students are angry and united against this trend. We will continue our protests till the government takes measures to stop the commercialisation of education," said Kirit Patel, an ABVP activist.

Also, the protestors halted traffic at many busy intersections across Ahmedabad. They blocked roads for over two hours during the day.

The police arrested many student leaders and baton-charged the protesters to keep the situation under control

Five Must Haves For Fashionable Men

Talk about accessories for women and you can have an endless list, but what about men? Men can rarely boast about having a range of different accessories. The list of accessories for men could just stop at things like sunglasses, watches, wallets and belts. It may sound boring but, these are the things every man must have. The choice is between making them mere things of necessity or flaunt them as your style statement.

1. Sunglasses ►

Sunglasses are a must have, when you step out in the Sun. They make the ultimate style statement, without you having to shell out a huge amount. Choosing the right pair of sunglasses for yourself is important. It should be trendy, classy and yet suit you personality. Jet black glasses may not suit everybody, thus you should experiment with other hues of brown too. It is always good to choose a pair, keeping in mind the colour of the season. The shape of your sunglasses should also correspond to the trend of the season. By wearing outdated designs, you wouldn't want the girls to have a good laugh, Isn't is? Why not try something new thins season? The Aviator sunglasses (the style seen the 80s in Top Gun) has a distinct masculine look. The black lens, metal framed combination has changed to grey or black lenses with stylish colourful frames. This style, by adding a bit of colour, can compliment a variety of looks for men. Sunglasses serve more than one purpose. They not only protect your eyes from sun rays but also help you stare girls without the notice of your girlfriend!

2. Wallets ►

A man's wallet ►
should be made of genuine leather. The softer the material, the better it is. The finest quality leather such as calf leather is preferred. As far as the colour of the wallet is concerned, stick to black or shades of brown. If you want to add a little quirky touch, an emboss or a stitch would look funky. Next time you go shopping for a wallet, make sure that you buy a slim one. As you fill up your wallet with much more than what you require, it will bulge out from the pocket. Fat wallets bulging out from the jeans pocket looks very bad. Do not keep adding junk to your wallets. Throw away all the movie tickets and ATM slips. Family photos look god in Photo frames. Do not keep them behind the plastic pocket of your wallet. It is not a very good idea to stock up all your credit cards in your wallet. Only one debit card and one credit card is enough.

3. Bags ►

Bags should always match the place you are going to. If you are out of college, keep you back packs aside. They can be used for vacations. Switch to a professional-type laptop bag, for your office or opt for any other trendy 'manbags.' There are unlimited choices for bags. The best way to choose a bag is to keep in mind the purpose of it. The type of bag that you carry talk a lot about your image. If you are in the service industry and can afford a bit of casual look, a cross body messenger bag is a good pick.

While choosing your bag, look for the quality too. Choose the bag with an uneven rough surface. If the texture of the leather is very smooth, it means that the leather has been treated too much and it may not last long. The rough look adds to a man's personality too.

The Dakine Station bag is best if you want to go for trekking. It is available in several colours and patterns. The Duffel bags have enough room for a weekend get away. It is polished enough for business as well. The Oakley computer bags are trendy and cool. It is a nylon bag with a padded laptop sleeve. It has many external pockets to keep in the extra tit-bits and comes with a shoulder strap too.

4. Belts ►

Belt is a man's best friend. A trouser without a belt can not only pull down your image but your pants too! From the buckle to the colour of the belt, choose everything with extra care. Belts to match formal wears should be neutral in colour. It should be in shades of brown or black, to match with the colour of the trouser. Like your wallets, belts should also be made of soft and fine leather. For office wear, the buckle should be small and simple. For an evening party, a belt to match your rugged jeans can be fashionable. You can pick a broad belt with a funky buckle. Match it with a trendy T-shirt and you are ready for the evening!

5. Watches ►

Though watches are an absolute necessity, they can also be stylish. Whether you are dressing up for business meeting or a party, you can not compromise on your watch. Most of us today think it is just fine to not wear the watch and pull out your mobile each time you want to look at the time. This looks unprofessional and stupid. You will get other chances to flaunt your mobile, but not for looking at the time, please!

Watches are an extension of one's personality. Chain straps and belt straps both look good but choose the one with which you are more comfortable in. For a formal look, choose the one which matches with your attire. Chain straps go well with formal wears.

For a casual look, you can opt for belt straps. If you have a broad wrist, you can experiment with big dials too. Check out the new trends of all the brands and pick the one that suits your personality. Big watches, both in size and shape are back in trend. Look out for diameters that are more than 40 millimetres. Though the popular material remains steel, titanium is fast picking up.
