Navratri Fusion 2015

NAVRATRI FUSION 2015

rends keep changing every year. And all of us make sure that we try to carry a look that can turn all the heads and eyes on us. Here are some tips to enhance your “Style Quotient” this Navratri!
Well, well, well! The much awaited festival of Navratri is finally here! Nine nights of endless dancing, bright colours, loud-foot tapping and blaring music, and the only time when we see “night life” in Gujarat! On the occasion of these amazing nine nights you can so not go wrong on the fashion factor! You need to be totally ‘in-style’.

You can use Deepika’s Raam-Leela (Frizzy hair, nose ring, asymmetrical tattoos on the neck) and the Chennai Express look as a style guide. Drape your dupatta in a South- Indian way if you want to flaunt a different look.

The Trends This Season

– ‘NEON‘ is the new flavour of the season. Every one is going ga-ga over the neon rage. If you don’t want to wear a complete neon Chaniya Choli, wear a neon choliwith a flowing multi hued chaniya and you can make a perfect style statement. Similarly, rather than wearing a solo neon dupatta, go for a metallic hued or mono chromatic dupatta and brighten it up with neon border. Also you can team up a neon-coloured ghagra having a thick border with a golden/ silver blouse and a net dupatta.
– Earlier, women preferred darker shades of blues and reds and then there was a phase where everyone went on the other side of the spectrum and chose neon. Today, the pendulum has settled somewhere at the centre where young women are preferring to be seen in shades of bright pink, yellows, fuchsia, etc. No, no don’t worry. It is not all that difficult to get such elegant outfits. You can easily find a variety of these latest design ethnic wear both at online and offline at various shops.

Traditional chanya cholis never go out of fashion. This year’s glam look is three-fourth length chanya cholis.  Lots of beads and mirror work, bright and beautiful colours with stones embellishments will surely add elegance to your outfit.
– For an Indo-western look you can wear full-length skirts with sequence teamed with a tank top or a singlet. To complete the look, accessorise it well with oxidised bangles or chunky traditional jewellery.
The jewelry trend this year is colourful wooden or brass bangles and stylish neck piece. For a traditional look go for oxidized pieces of jewelry which includes necklaces, bracelets or kadakamarband and nose rings. Kundan Navratri jewellery is also hot in this season. I think a kamarbandh is the best style statement and will also help you enhance your curves.

Things to keep in mind

– Go Blinggg!!
– Wear a light dupatta, so that it doesn’t hinder your dance movements.
– Leaving your long beautiful tresses open is the obvious way to look gorgeous but a messy bun or a braid will keep things more hassle free.
– Obviously, DO NOT wear heels! Comfortable flats are the best footwear.
– With the unpredictable weather these days, rains can be a big threat. So make sure you put on water-proof and smudge-free make up. You cannot afford to look de-glammed.
– Don’t overdo the accessories, as chances are they may fall off while dancing.
