Yahoo Man' Shammi Kapoor's Daughter To Pen Father's Biography

Fans of the late Shammi Kapoor have reasons to rejoice now. Sources claim that the departed actor's daughter Kanchan from his first wife is gearing up to portray her father's life in a biography, which will cover all aspects of the Yahoo Man's life from his personal to professional life to his status as a national icon. The late actor's son Aditya Raj Kapoor confirmed the project. Shammi Kapoor, who was also known as India's answer to Elvis Presley because of his unique dance moves and hairstyle, was considered one of the most good-looking men of Bollywood. Kapoor's last film appearance was in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar starring Ranbir Kapoor whee the Kapoor Prince shared screen space with his great grandfather for the first and last time on celluloid. Shammi Kapoor, one of the first Internet savvy actors of the film industry passed away due to renal failure at around 5:15 am on August 14 , 2011 at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital, where he was admitted for undergoing treatment for chest infection.

Preparations for 2012 Amarnath pilgrimage begin

Preparations for the annual Amarnath pilgrimage in Jammu and Kashmir next year started today with Governor N.N. Vohra, who is the chairman of the shrine board, holding a meeting with officials.

Vohra visited the shrine and also reviewed the cleanliness drive launched by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), which manages the affairs of the annual pilgrimage, along the track to the Himalayan cave shrine devoted to Hindu God Lord Shiva at a height of 13,500 feet above sea level.

The drive was ordered by the governor after the conclusion of the 45-day annual pilgrimage on Aug 13. The shrine attracted 634,000 pilgrims from across the country this year.

The track which passes through fragile glaciers has been cleared of all the garbage, said a spokesman of the shrine board.

He said the governor held a meeting with the officers of the civil administration and functionaries of the shrine board for the arrangements to be put in place for the next year's pilgrimage.

"Vohra discussed the arrangements at the base camp at Baltal and along the yatra route with the officials for the next year's pilgrimage," the spokesman said.

"He called for upgradation of the facilities for pilgrims at the cave and along the route," he said.

The shrine board provides accommodation,medical facilities and ensures security of the pilgrims with the help of the state administration, army and paramilitary forces.

A major attraction at the shrine during the pilgrimage is the naturally-made stalagmite of snow, which the pilgrims worship. (IANS)

No colour spells summer better than white. This long held fashion rule extended itself to makeup at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012. Day one began with a splash of white eyeshadow on the model's eyelids at the Rahul Reddy show. The infatuation with whites continued for Nachiket Barve's show where the designer's colourful outfits were paired with heavy white eyeliner on the rims of along with a thin frame of black eyeliner along the upper lashes. A similar look was spotted at the Rajesh Pratap Singh show. Day two saw the trend continue. At the Amit Aggarwal show, a barely there hint of shimmery white shadow was sparingly used along lower lash lines and paired with glossy, clean eyelids. Moving away from the eyes, artists painted models' nails with white nail at the Urvashi Kaur and Samant Chauhan shows. At the Manish Gupta and Preeti S Kapoor shows, the colour made an unusual appearance on model's lips. The wash of white on the lips was paired with a thick stroke of white eyeliner along model's lower lash line.

Is this the new look for ‘Dhoom 3’ Aamir?

Superstar Aamir Khan has always been a perfectionist. The actor is known for changing his looks according to the characters he plays.

After sporting the handlebar moustache for Reema Kagti’s film ‘Dhuan’, Aamir was recently seen sporting a salt and pepper French beard.

Sporting a French beard and slicked back hair, Aamir looked extremely suave and there is a certain edge to the new look.

Clicked by a website, Aamir seemed to be in no mood to pose for the lensman which raised the question perhaps it was for a look test. Aamir in the past has revealed his looks to the press only when he felt it was the right time to disclose details about his character and the film he was working on.

Many point out that since the shooting of ‘Dhuan’ isn’t over yet, Aamir could not be sporting a new look so soon. Probably that’s why the perfectionist did not oblige the photographer when he was clicked outside a spa in Mumbai.

Two terrorists enter Gujarat: Report

Ahmedabad: Intelligence agencies have issued a terror alert for Gujarat. Reports said the agencies believe terrorists from neighbouring Bangladesh could be hiding somewhere in Gujarat and may strike during the festive season.
According to the inputs received, suspects named Hasan Ansari and Saeed ul Haq could be hiding in the state.
Police in Surat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Bhavnagar have been specifically asked to stay alert.
The alert follows an advisory issued by the Centre which asked authorities in four metros besides Hyderabad and Bangalore to remain on high alert. The advisory was issued in the wake of a major RDX haul in Haryana.

Their personal equation may have gone a bit sour after their break-up, but Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will romance on the big screen in Karan Johar's new movie 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'.

It will be directed by Ayan Mukherjee, the man behind 'Wake Up Sid'.

"So hey... Ranbir and Deepika will be in Ayan Mukherjee's next titled... YEH JAWANI HAI DEEWANI!!! The Wake Up Sid boys on the floors from Jan!!" Karan posted on his Twitter page.

Deepika and Ranbir, who dated each other for over a year before heading for splitsville in 2009, were last seen in 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' in 2008, and their sizzling chemistry was there for all to see.

For now, Karan is busy directing 'Student Of The Year', which will see three newcomers - Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan - entering the film industry.

"Am back on the sets of STUDENT OF THE YEAR (SOTY)!!! The young energetic crew makes me feel like a geriatric!!!" added the 39-year-old filmmaker.

International celebrity Paris Hilton finally arrived in Mumbai Saturday (September 24) morning and left the shutterbugs fluttering, as she stepped out of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport dressed in a blue jumpsuit.

The heiress, who is in India on a three-day trip, came through a Turkish airlines flight at 4am and is staying in Mumbai's JW Marriot hotel.

"Even though it was early morning when Paris reached Mumbai, she looked very excited and was very friendly at the airport. She has now reached the hotel and will rest for sometime before starting her day," a source revealed.

Paris later tweeted, "Yay! So excited! This is going to be an amazing trip!"

She added, "Wow! What a warm welcome into Mumbai. Hundreds of fans and media waiting for me when I landed... I love you India!"

Paris, who is in the city to unveil Fall-Winter designs of her handbags, will address the media at 3pm and then she is expected to meet many celebrities and Bollywood stars at a party organised for her by socialite Queenie Singh at night.

Catch the stars get quirky in Karan Johar's romantic comedy

Karan Johar has revealed the first look of his next movie, the Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' on Facebook. And it's certainly a colourful pic!

The first image has Kareena and Imran walking on a busy street wearing quirky, oversized shades, and eating cotton candy.

It was also been shared on the Facebook page that the movie will release next Valentine's Day.

Karan had posted the link and tweeted, "And here's Dharma's (Productions) next!"

'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu', being directed by Shakun Batra, was earlier called "Short Term Shaadi'. It was rumoured that the plot is an adaptation of the Hollywood film 'What Happens in Vegas', which starred Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher. Karan, however, had denied those stories.

Soha Ali Khan gave away details of the couple's big day

The news has been in the air for a while, and now it has been confirmed. Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan will be getting married in 2012. While the couple themselves have still not made the date official, the news was confirmed by Saif's sister Soha, in a media interaction after she walked the ramp as part of the Blender's Pride Tour in New Delhi.

Soha revealed the news quite by chance, saying, "They (Saif and Kareena) have been together for quite some time now and their relationship has grown. I can hardly wait for the wedding next year. There will be a number of functions and I am very excited about what to wear.”

While Saif did reveal yesterday what he would be wearing at the wedding, he didn't confirm that the wedding would happen next year. He did say however that this year the couple would be concentrating on his home production 'Agent Vinod' while they'd 'talk about' the marriage next year.

“Three Musketeers” gets a Hindi remake…

The popular novel, “Three Musketeers” which is written by Author Alexandre Dumas’ is all set to become a Bollywood movie.

If buzz is to be believed, It’s going to be Aamir Khan and Priyanka who would be essaying the prominent roles. Reportedly, PVR Pictures are in talks with the distributors of the Hollywood film.

According to a source, “They are considering casting Aamir as the Duke of Buckingham and Priyanka as Milady de Winter, who is one of the antagonists in the film. But the actors to play three musketeers are still not known.”
